Internships
A Positive Way to Make Lasting Change
Kamin Science Center’s College Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals looking for targeted learning experiences. College internships are not available to any student eligible for our Teen Volunteer Program or High School Internship Program.
The High School Internship Program is open to high school students between the ages of 14 and 18.
You don’t have to be a STEM major to intern at the Science Center. We accept all majors for our internships! From education and marketing to event planning, physics, and much more, there is a department that fits your interests and course of study.
Amazing Opportunities to Help You Grow

Each intern will have the opportunity to be creative, apply classroom studies in practical ways, and develop personally and professionally. In return, Kamin Science Center will receive valuable assistance that contributes significantly to our goals.
Interns may prepare and evaluate educational materials, assist with staff training, help children explore the wonders of science, research science content for shows and exhibits, assist with creative planning and design of marketing materials, and much more!

About Our Opportunities
-
Limited paid internships are available at the Science Center. Paid internships are posted throughout the year as opportunities become available.
-
If you are a student who is not permitted by your academic institution to receive payment for a for-credit internship, contact us about unpaid externship opportunities.
-
A minimum of 120 hours is needed to complete an internship. School credits and/or the internship position may determine the number of hours per week, but most internships are 10–15 hours/week.
-
Upon acceptance into the program, all interns who have lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 years are required to provide and pay for background checks and clearances.
-
Interns who have lived in Pennsylvania for at least 10 years must have their Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33) and Criminal Record Check Clearance (Act 34).
-
Interns who have lived in Pennsylvania for less than 10 years must have their Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33) and Criminal Record Check Clearance (Act 34) plus an FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114). Act 33 and 34 Clearances are free for interns.
-
Interns must submit the required clearances and complete a required orientation before they can begin their internship.
